  • Instagram user hydrotrx posted a video of the 2021 Ram 1500 TRX‘s Hellcat supercharged V-8 starting up.
  • The Ram TRX is powered by a supercharged 6.2-liter V-8 that produces 702 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque.
  • It starts at $71,690 and will go on sale by the end of the year.

In case you didn’t already know, Ram now has a 702-hp Hellcat-powered pickup truck with standard 35-inch tires, and it’s called the TRX. Yeah. And if that wasn’t obnoxious enough already, we’re getting out first listen to what the monstrous V-8 sounds like when it starts up.

If we didn’t already tell you that it was a TRX, and there was no video accompanying this eight-cylinder rumble, your (as well as our) first guess might have been a Charger or Challenger Hellcat—or some other obnoxiously loud muscle car. But no, it’s a Hydro Blue 2021 TRX pickup with massive 35-inch rubber, beadlock-capable wheels, and an additional three inches of ground clearance compared to the standard Ram 1500.

The Ram 1500 TRX is powered by Dodge’s revered Hellcat supercharged 6.2-liter V-8, and it muscles up 702 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque. It also has launch control, yes, in a pickup, and Ram claims a zero-to-60-mph sprint of 4.5 seconds and 12.9 seconds at 108 mph in the quarter-mile. However, it’ll only reach 118 mph. Well, it is a well-over-6000-pound truck after all.

The Instagram user who posted the cold-start video, hydrotrx, claims to be one of the first TRX owners in the U.S. However, we did notice that it has manufacturer plates. The 2021 Ram 1500 TRX starts at $71,690 and will go on sale by the end of the year.
