Overview

In the 1970s, the Land Rover Range Rover’s Herculean four-wheel-drive system and fancy interior convinced the wealthy it was fun to dip their diamonds in the mud. Now the company’s top model takes a new evolutionary step, entering the fully electric era using an all-new platform that can adapt gas, plug-in hybrid, or electric propulsion. Important details such as range, power, and pricing remain a secret, but we expect the Range Rover EV to retain the plushness and robust off-road capability that’s been synonymous with the brand since it was first sold stateside in 1987.

What’s New for 2024?

The 2024 Range Rover EV will utilize a new full-electric powertrain and an all-new chassis. The EV will be based on the long-wheelbase model, which should allow three rows of seating as it does in the gas-fed Range that’s on sale today. A new multilink suspension setup reduces the space needed for wheel articulation leading to extra room to house the EV’s battery and rear-wheel steering system.
